  • Small sushi spot that’s popular with locals — and now I see why. The sushi is fresh, reasonably priced, and they have some unique rolls. Try the "Jessica Roll" if you like something a little spicy. Service is fast and friendly. A nice find in the Valley.

  • Got sat upstairs near the waterfront and the view is amazing! The service was a little slow during busy hours, however, they accommodated everything we requested. The food is pretty good, but the atmosphere does blow it away! I suggest making a reservation since this is a very popular spot

  • Kushiyu: A Premier Sushi Experience Kushiyu holds the distinction of being the first sushi restaurant I visited over thirty years ago. Introduced by my good friend Marco, I was initially hesitant to try sushi. However, it quickly became my favorite cuisine. The albacore sushi was impeccably chilled, with a texture that melted in my mouth. The white rice was perfectly prepared, complemented by an exquisite dressing that subtly enhanced the fresh taste of the albacore. The atmosphere at Kushiyu is vibrant and uplifting, thanks to the spirited sushi chefs. Their culinary expertise is evident in the beautifully presented sushi, each piece a mouthwatering masterpiece. My personal favorite is the Spicy Tuna Sushi, featuring fresh chopped tuna with just the right amount of spice, green onions, and a light dressing atop a quickly fried square of rice. Over the years, I have visited numerous sushi restaurants, but none compare to the freshness of the fish, the quality of the food, the lively atmosphere, and the friendliness of the sushi chefs at Kushiyu. I extend my gratitude to Taka and Elilio, who have been crafting my favorite dishes since day one. I highly recommend Kushiyu and can confidently assert that it offers an exceptional dining experience.

  • This is my favorite Japanese restaurant I have ever been to. You don't know what real Japanese food is until you have eaten here. Been going for years and its consistently good every time. I'd give stars if I could

  • You know how tipping culture has become insane over the last decade? How it went from optional to show gratitude for a job well done to a mandatory tax? And because of that, how waiters have become entitled to a 20% minimum gratuity without feeling the need to earn it for exceptional service? You pay it because it’s expected not because it was deserved. Well… It’s been YEARS since I’ve had an experience at a restaurant where the entire staff as a WHOLE just completely blew me away. I mean every single person here was just on top of it, and were out of their way nice and happy to their customers. I mean it was kinda unbelievable. Ever since Covid the level of service you expect from restaurants just went off a cliff, but here you are in an alternate universe. I mean the level of attention to your table is just amazing. Finished plates don’t sit on your table for more than 2 minutes before someone comes to collect it. Ask your waiter for anything, they respond with a genuine smile and return within 60 seconds. Ask another waiter (not your waiter) for something? They won’t tell you to ask to your waiter, they will help with whatever you need themselves. The food of course was incredible, but I really want to harp on the excellence in service. It’s not an easy job for management to identify and retain great people with great service, attitudes, and personality. And it’s not easy for staff to please everyone. Somehow these guys have done it. Bravo to the management and the staff on an excellent job. I hope others restaurants can take notes. So back to my original question… yea tip culture is insane, but for the first time in a long time the tip I paid felt very well deserved and I was happy, no, eager, to pay it, unlike all the other times where after tipping I felt like I had just been taxed.

  • For a quick bite it’s great as the food is fresh and delicious. It’s busy and just doesn’t have a nice ‘Date vibe’ so don’t plan on that. There’s parking but being shared with other restaurants so it’s usually packed. The guys behind the bar are wonderful but some of the waitresses are Not very inviting. I would definitely go back for the food although it’s a bit pricey.
